Estonia ) The National Tourism Boards of Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania invite the travel experts and press to visit their joint booth (618) "Welcome to the Baltics: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania," at the upcoming New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, February 29 till March 2, 2008. Show hours: Friday, February 29, 2-7 pm (trade only) Representatives of all three countries will be on hand to discuss the exciting travel opportunities of this dynamic region, which is also a frequent spa and cruise destination. Literature and other promotional materials will be available for distribution. In addition, a Baltic Workshop on "Exploring Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania" has been scheduled for Saturday March 1 in Seminar Room 1 organized by Ann Charles and presented by GoBalticEurope.com/Baltic Sea Tourism Commission (BTC), with the participation of the Estonian Tourist Board, the Latvian Tourism Development Agency, and the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism. Show attendees will get a taste of Baltic culture with performances by Baltic entertainers. On Saturday, March 1, the Lithuanian Children's Choir "Varpelis": will perform at 3:20pm, followed by Ensemble "Jaunos Sirdys" courtesy of GoBalticEurope.com/BTC(Booth 521). Latvian National Dance group "JUMIS" and Estonian singer Kristi Roosmaa, scheduled to perform for Sunday, March 2 at 11:20am till11:55am. Travel experts and Press members are invited to contact any of the above named country representatives to arrange for individual interviews, either prior to the show, or during the show.
BALTNET hosted a business conference in West Hartford
BALTNET and the BALTICS The guest speaker, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in New York Ambassador Jonas Paslauskas made a presentation "Trade and Investment Opportunities in Lithuania". The Conference was attended by President of LABC Mr. Aloyzas Petrikas, Director Mr Arturas Kozyrovicius and Member Ms Ramute Zukas, Second Secretary of the Consulate General Ms Dina Kopilevic, representatives of Latvia and Estonia. The event offered an opportunity to learn about business opportunities in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, experience a touch of the Baltic culture with food and music. It was sponsored by MetroHartford Alliance, The World Affairs Council of Connecticut, Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C., Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. The Baltic New England Development Network Inc. (BALTNET), a corporate member of LABC, is a non-profit organization which provides a variety of services to promote and facilitate collaboration between the Baltic countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and the New England States. On August 8, 2007 seminar "Overview of the US Health Care System and Hospital Management Structure", organized by Ekonomikos mokymo centras. On August 14, 2007 seminar "The US Economy and Business Opportunities", organized by Lithuanian Development Agency.
On June 23, 2007 the New York District of the Lithuanian American Community, the Manhattan Chapter of the Lithuanian American Community and the Consulate General of Lithuania held a farewell reception for Consul General Mindaugas Butkus on the occasion of his end of term of office.

Representatives of all three countries were on hand to discuss the exciting travel opportunities of this dynamic region, which is also a frequent spa and cruise destination. Literature and other promotional materials was available. Show attendees got a taste of Baltic culture with performances by Baltic entertainers on February 24 and February 25.
On September 20, 2006, Lithuanian American Business Council and Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania held a presentation "Invest in Lithuania".
